3 Things You Must Do to Plan the Perfect Prom

Prom is one of the biggest nights in high school. It is a night to look back on for the rest of your lives. So when planning your prom, you need to make sure it is a good one. Here are 3 essential things you need to do when planning.

3 Things You Must Do to Plan the Perfect Prom

1) Start in September

It might seem like it’s a long way away, but you cannot procrastinate. There is a lot of things to do to make prom a success. So start planning what the theme is and what the budget is. When you are recruiting people for the prom committee, also be planning your fundraisers to raise money for Prom. You should have several fundraising events to make sure you raise enough to do everything you want to do. That all requires planning and there’s no time to start like September. Fundraising ideas could be helpful for everyone as well, like having people donate their old prom dresses and selling them at a discounted rate so everyone will feel their best on prom night, no matter what their personal budget is.

2) Book your venue several months in advance.

When booking a place, book in November or December, not in the spring. You do not want to run the risk of everything being booked and having to cram everyone into the gym. In addition to your venue, book your caterer and DJ around the same time. Booking all of these things months in ahead will relieve a lot of stress and means less last minute changes as prom gets closer.

3) Recruit a clean-up crew a few weeks before prom.

At the end of a fun yet exhausting prom, you don’t want to find yourself suddenly alone with an entire place to clean up. Recruit others to clean up a few weeks before. Offer a discount on tickets or another incentive for them to make a commitment to help clean up. Also, organize what cleaning tasks need to be done and assign them to people to avoid a lot of the cleanup crew standing around in confusion and not sure what to do.
